Ochei Canvasses Support For Anioma Culture

ASABA, April 11, THEWILL – The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Victor Ochei (FNSE) has beckoned all Anioma indigenes to ensure the propagation and sustenance of the Anioma Cultural heritage, as a way of supporting the activities of the Organisation for the Advancement of Anioma Culture (OFAAC).

He made the call during the ninth edition of the annual Anioma Cultural Festival, tagged “Anioma Unity and Sanctity with Nature” recently in Asaba, where he observed that, the imperativeness of his call stems from the need to offer deep-rooted support for the preservation, promotion and advancement of the inherent virtues in the rich cultural heritage of Anioma nation.

The Speaker poured encomium on the President of OFAAC, Arch Kester Ifeadi, whose committed doggedness since the maiden edition in November 2003 finds relevance in adhering to UNESCO’s call on communities to ensure active participation in upholding the cultural heritage of a people, adding that all Anioma indigenes should embrace and adopt “Proudly Anioma” as an identity.
