 Anioma Watch Association’s Antenatal Giveaway Draws Mammoth Turnout in Agbor

A mammoth turnout of expectant mothers was recorded in Agbor as the Anioma Watch Association distributed essential antenatal items to pregnant women as part of its efforts to support maternal health and ease the financial burden associated with pregnancy.

The Anioma Watch Association team, on Thursday, took its antenatal outreach programme to Central Hospital, Agbor, in Delta State, where expectant mothers from the community received new-life packs containing essential items to support them during pregnancy and prepare them for childbirth.

The Anioma Watch team was warmly received by the Zonal Director of Central Hospital, Agbor, Dr. Grace Eseka, and Mrs. Okwudihu Patricia, Matron of the hospital. Dr. Eseka thanked the organisation for choosing the hospital as the venue for the outreach.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Anioma Watch Association, Dr. Emeka Esogbue, thanked the expectant mothers for their presence and described Anioma Watch as a socio-political watchdog of the Anioma people.

Esogbue encouraged the women to raise their children to become responsible and productive members of the Agbor community, Anioma and Nigeria at large.

Also speaking, the Chairman and Media Director to the Delta State Governor, Mr. William Eghebi, commended Dr. Grace Eseka for her outstanding contributions to the management and development of hospitals in the community.

Eghebi urged the expectant mothers to raise their children to become better individuals and productive citizens in the future. He assured the group of his willingness to support its activities in any way possible, noting that while it might not be possible to meet every need, every form of assistance counts.

Engr. Abela Emuebie, in his remarks, advised the expectant mothers on proper nutrition and the importance of maintaining a healthy diet during pregnancy.

Founded in 2022, Anioma Watch Association is a registered socio-cultural organisation of the Anioma people. The current antenatal outreach project was facilitated by Dr. Anthony Ezeagbor, a member of the organisation’s Board of Trustees.
